Oneyard Limited Warranty

1. Our Commitment

At Oneyard, we build electric bikes designed for the "Gentle Rebel"—those who demand both style and performance. Every Oneyard e-bike is covered by a limited manufacturer’s warranty to the original retail purchaser, starting from the date of delivery.

2. Warranty Period by Component

Component Coverage Period Details
Main Frame 1 Year Manufacturing defects in materials/workmanship.
Battery & Charger 6 Months Guaranteed to maintain 70% of capacity during this period.
Motor & Controller 6 Months Internal motor failures and electronic faults.
LCD Display 6 Months Screen malfunctions and electrical failures.

3. Conditions & Exclusions

To keep your warranty valid, please note the following exclusions. The warranty DOES NOT cover:

  • Normal Wear and Tear: Items such as tires, tubes, brake pads, rotors, chains, spokes, and grips.

  • Unauthorized Modifications: Any alterations to the motor, controller, or software (e.g., speed-limit unlocking beyond 32km/h for public road use).

  • Abuse & Neglect: Damage caused by accidents, water submersion (IP65 is rain-resistant, not waterproof), extreme stunt riding, or improper storage.

  • Commercial Use: Use of the e-bike for courier services, rentals, or commercial delivery (unless specifically authorized in writing).

  • Second-hand Owners: This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original owner.

4. Owner’s Responsibility

The owner is responsible for performing regular maintenance and safety checks.

  • Fasteners: Ensure all bolts and nuts are tightened before every ride.

  • Battery Care: Batteries must be charged at least once every 30 days during storage to prevent deep discharge, which is not covered by warranty.

5. How to File a Claim

If you experience a technical issue, please follow these steps:

  1. Prepare Info: Have your Order Number and the bike’s Serial Number (found on the head tube or bottom bracket) ready.

  2. Visual Evidence: Take clear photos or a short video demonstrating the issue.

  3. Contact Us: Email support@oneyardbike.ca or use our [Support Form].

  4. Resolution: Our technical team will diagnose the issue. We will either ship replacement parts or authorize a repair at one of our Toronto service centers.

6. Shipping Costs for Warranty Parts

  • Within 30 Days of Delivery: Oneyard will cover the shipping costs for replacement parts.

  • After 30 Days: The customer is responsible for the shipping costs of warranty-covered parts.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from province to province.

Speed Unlocking & Off-Road Use Disclaimer

1. Factory Configuration & Legal Compliance All Oneyard e-bikes are shipped with a factory-set speed limit of 32 km/h (20 mph) and a motor output rating that complies with Ontario’s Power-Assisted Bicycle regulations and Federal Canadian standards for public road use.

2. Unauthorized Modifications Any modification, tampering, or "unlocking" of the speed controller, motor firmware, or software to exceed the legal limit of 32 km/h is considered an Unauthorized Modification.

3. Assumption of Risk & Liability Release By choosing to unlock or modify the speed limits of a Oneyard e-bike, the user acknowledges and agrees to the following:

  • Private Property Use Only: Modified e-bikes are strictly prohibited on public roads, bike paths, or multi-use trails. They must only be operated on private property or closed racing tracks with the property owner's explicit permission.

  • Safety Risk: Operating an e-bike at high speeds (up to 120 km/h) significantly increases the risk of severe injury or death. High-speed operation requires professional-grade safety gear (full-face helmet, leathers, etc.) and advanced riding skills.

  • Legal Consequences: The user is solely responsible for any fines, impoundment, or legal action taken by authorities due to the illegal operation of a modified e-bike on public infrastructure.

  • Waiver of Liability: Oneyard (and its parent company, affiliates, and retail partners) shall not be held liable for any personal injury, property damage, or legal issues resulting from speed-limit modifications or high-speed operation.

4. Impact on Warranty Unlocking the speed limit immediately voids the Limited Warranty on the following components: Battery, Motor, Controller, and Display. The increased electrical stress and heat generated by high-speed operation can lead to premature component failure, which will not be covered by Oneyard.

5. Indemnification The user agrees to indemnify and hold Oneyard harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses arising from the user’s decision to modify the vehicle's performance or operate it in a non-compliant manner.
