How to Properly Charge The Battery

Optimizing battery life and ensuring safety.

To protect your battery’s internal Battery Management System (BMS) and ensure a long lifespan, please follow this mandatory connection sequence every time you charge.

The Golden Rule: Connection Sequence

Always connect your charger in this specific order to prevent electrical sparking and protect the BMS:

  1. Step 1: Connect the Charger to the Battery (The Bike Side) Insert the charging plug into the battery's charging port first. Ensure the connection is firm and secure.

  2. Step 2: Connect the Charger to the Wall Outlet (The Power Side) Plug the AC power cord into your wall outlet. The light on the charger brick will typically turn RED to indicate charging is in progress.

  3. Step 3: Completion Once fully charged, the light will turn GREEN. To disconnect, perform the steps in reverse: Unplug from the wall first, then disconnect the plug from the battery.

Crucial Battery Maintenance Tips

  • Use Only Original Equipment: Always use the official Oneyard charger provided with your e-bike. Using third-party, high-voltage, or fast-chargers may damage your battery cells and void your warranty.

  • Temperature Matters: Never charge your battery in freezing temperatures (below 0°C / 32°F). Bring the battery inside and let it reach room temperature for at least 1 hour before plugging it in.

  • Avoid Deep Discharge: Do not leave your battery at 0% for long periods. If you are not riding for an extended time (e.g., winter storage), charge the battery to about 50-60% and check/top it up every 30 days.

  • Ventilation: Always charge in a dry, well-ventilated area away from flammable materials. Never cover the charger while it is in use.
